About the position
The Endoscopic Technician at Swedish Health Services plays a crucial role in supporting endoscopic procedures by preparing and maintaining equipment, ensuring proper cleaning and sterilization, and assisting in the operation of the Gastroenterology Endoscopic unit. This position requires a strong understanding of aseptic techniques and quality assurance related to infection control.
Responsibilities
- Prepare all equipment for endoscopic procedures.
- Clean equipment properly using appropriate protocols and procedures.
- Prepare equipment for repair and track repairs.
- Assist in all endoscopic procedures for the proper operation of the Gastroenterology Endoscopic unit.
- Demonstrate knowledge of principles and practices of aseptic techniques.
- Participate in all quality assurance activities related to infection control and disinfection/sterilization of endoscopic equipment.
Requirements
- Washington Medical Assistant Certification upon hire.
- Washington Nursing Assistant Certification License upon hire, or Washington Surgical Technologist Registration upon hire, or National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
- Within 1 year of hire: National Certified Endoscope Reprocessor - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association or National Flexible Endoscope Reprocessors - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution.
- 1 year of previous experience in scope processing, scheduling procedures, computer data entry, and assisting in the procedure room.
Nice-to-haves
