About The Position

The Endoscopic Technician plays a crucial role in supporting gastroenterology procedures by managing scheduling, assisting in the procedure room, and ensuring the proper maintenance and sterilization of endoscopic equipment. This position requires multitasking and a strong understanding of infection control and equipment handling to ensure patient safety and effective procedure execution.

Requirements

• Completion of a Surgical Technology, Anesthesia Technologist, Certified Nurse Assistant, or Medical Assistant program.
• Washington Medical Assistant Certification, Nursing Assistant Certification License, or Surgical Technologist Registration upon hire.
• National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
• National Certified Endoscope Reprocessor or National Flexible Endoscope Reprocessors certification within 1 year of hire.
• One year of experience in a medical setting as a Surgical Technologist, Anesthesia Technologist, Nursing Assistant, or Certified Medical Assistant.
• Knowledge of infection control procedures and types of microorganisms.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of 12 months of full-time employment or equivalent part-time hours processing flexible endoscopes.
• Knowledge of scopes and accessories for endoscopic procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operating instructions.

Responsibilities

• Schedule procedures and perform computer data entry for ph studies.
• Assist in the procedure room and support the nursing staff with patient admissions.
• Clean and disinfect scopes and prepare equipment for sterilization.
• Maintain disinfection logs and manage supplies for procedure rooms.
• Track repairs and prepare scopes for repair as needed.
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of equipment for troubleshooting problems.
