About the position
The Assistant Nurse Manager at AdventHealth Tampa is responsible for supervising and coordinating patient care delivery on assigned nursing units. This role involves planning, directing, and evaluating nursing service functions to ensure optimal patient care and organizational effectiveness. The Assistant Nurse Manager also participates in staff education, operational objectives, and quality improvement initiatives, while fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate patient care delivery on assigned nursing units.
- Plan, direct, and evaluate nursing service functions and activities for optimal patient care.
- Complete concurrent chart audits to ensure accuracy and completeness in EMR.
- Coordinate staff educational needs and oversee orientation and training of new personnel.
- Assist in the development and tracking of unit Performance Improvement Metrics and action plans.
- Participate in employee selection and hiring processes.
- Mentor and coach employees to assure competency in care delivery.
- Manage conflict and foster a respectful work environment.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Associate's degree or Diploma in Nursing.
- Current valid Florida State Board of Nursing Registered Professional Nurse license.
- Minimum of two years Endoscopy nursing experience.
- Two years of prior leadership experience in a team leader role.
- BLS and ACLS certification.
