About the position

The Endovascular Neurosurgeon at the University of Pittsburgh Physicians is responsible for providing advanced treatment and procedures for patients with brain and nerve issues. This role focuses on minimally invasive endovascular techniques, which utilize catheters and small tools to perform surgeries through blood vessels, offering a less invasive alternative to traditional surgical methods. The position also involves performing neurosurgical consultative services for both inpatients and outpatients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide treatment/procedures such as thrombolytic therapy, blood clot retrieval, endovascular coiling, cerebral angiography, carotid artery angioplasty and stenting, and minimally-invasive spine surgery.
  • Perform neurosurgical consultative services in the hospital and for outpatients.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (M.D.) or equivalent.
  • Completion of seven years of post-graduate training in Neurosurgery, including one year of training in Endovascular or Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery.
  • Valid unrestricted PA medical license.
