About the position

The Endovascular Radiologic Technologist II at Houston Methodist is an experienced professional responsible for performing specialized radiological procedures using complex imaging equipment. This role involves assisting physicians in various therapeutic procedures, including vascular and neurological interventions, while ensuring optimal patient care and safety. The technologist also mentors junior staff and participates in a collaborative team environment to enhance patient outcomes and departmental efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Perform highly specialized radiological procedures using complex imaging equipment.
  • Assist physicians with therapeutic procedures including angiography, venography, and treatments for strokes and aneurysms.
  • Scrub into Endovascular Lab cases to assist with equipment movement and radiation control.
  • Provide care for patients by executing various radiologic concepts and modifying technical factors for optimal imaging results.
  • Follow radiation safety standards and maintain compliance with infection control procedures.
  • Document patient procedures accurately and enter charges at the time of service.
  • Participate in department projects and foster a positive teaching environment.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for required credentials.
  • Three years' experience as an Endovascular/Special Procedures Technologist I or equivalent experience in a Cath Lab.
  • ARRT-R - Radiologic Technologist - Radiographer certification required.
  • CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist - State Licensure required.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support certification required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification preferred.
  • ARRT-VI - Radiologic Technologist - Vascular Interventional Radiography certification preferred.
  • RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist certification preferred.
