Energy Advisor

About the position

The Energy Advisor position at Puget Sound Energy involves researching, analyzing, and responding to customer inquiries related to energy efficiency and conservation. The role promotes energy efficiency and renewable energy programs, representing the company at community outreach events. The advisor works in a team environment, adapting to changes in services and programs while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Consults with customers via phone and email to help lower bills and educate them on energy efficiency, conservation, and renewable energy.
• Assists in executing promotional and process plans to efficiently reach program targets.
• Utilizes internal systems to analyze customer energy usage and billing concerns, offering recommendations for products and services.
• Promotes energy efficiency and renewable energy programs at community outreach events such as trade shows and educational workshops.
• Informs and educates customers about energy efficiency programs and assists with the enrollment process.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalency in general studies and/or three years of experience in public contact providing customer assistance.
• Proficient in word-processing, presentation, and spreadsheet applications.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of residential and commercial energy end-uses and heat loss theory.
• Knowledge of energy codes, standards, and regulations.
• Technical knowledge in customer equipment application and economic choices.
• Some utility experience.
• Experience using PSE's customer database systems and MDL applications.
• Proficient in a second language.
