About the position

The Energy Auditor position involves performing weatherization activities to achieve energy savings for low-income, elderly, and handicapped residents in specific counties of Oklahoma. The role requires conducting quality control inspections, assessing homes, preparing cost estimates, and ensuring compliance with various regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality control inspections on completed weatherization projects as required by the Oklahoma Department of Commerce and Department of Energy guidelines.
  • Assess homes and develop cost estimates utilizing required weatherization procedures, including standard work specifications, CAZ testing, and quality control requirements.
  • Prepare purchase orders necessary to secure needed materials as designated by N.E.A.T. guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with asbestos and lead-based paint rules and regulations.
  • Ensure contractors utilize standard work specifications, CAZ, and quality work standards.
  • Ensure compliance with O.D.O.C. 25A 'Health and Safety' checklist.
  • Ensure Certified Renovator practices are used by contractors.
  • Coordinate special job requirements with the Weatherization Coordinator.
  • Maintain current and accurate progress of contractor's performance.
  • Prepare statistical and progress reports as directed by the Weatherization Coordinator.
  • Ensure that required building codes are followed and required permits are procured by contractors.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Attend all required training and maintain required certifications.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. and Vo-Tech courses in a building trade with background in mathematics.
  • Three (3) years' experience in a construction trade with broad knowledge of the construction field in general.
  • One (1) year estimating experience can be substituted for two (2) years of construction work.
  • Ability to learn and determine compliance with weatherization procedures.
  • Ability to interpret, explain, and apply knowledge of installation of doors, replacement windows, etc.
  • Excellent skill in measurements of all residential home components (doors, windows, attics, etc.).
  • Ability to communicate aspects of the program and work to be performed to clients and contractors.
  • Possess valid Oklahoma driver's license and have dependable transportation.
  • Must be computer literate.
