About the position

The Energy Engineer at Burlington Stores is responsible for providing engineering support to enhance energy efficiency across various facilities, including stores and distribution centers. This role focuses on analyzing energy consumption, managing energy projects, and implementing energy-saving initiatives to reduce the company's carbon footprint and overall energy costs.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and identify ways to improve energy consumption across the enterprise.
• Serve as a key advisor on energy matters, reviewing cost estimates, specifications, and construction documents.
• Monitor store and corporate facility Energy Management Systems (EMS).
• Oversee energy management program initiatives through the project lifecycle.
• Conduct energy audits at distribution centers and store locations to identify high energy usage and efficiency upgrades.
• Manage lighting efficiency upgrades and analyze existing equipment for new solutions.
• Utilize bill data for reporting and analytics to monitor energy usage and identify reduction candidates.
• Investigate renewable energy opportunities and manage related projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in mechanical, electrical, energy engineering or related field; or a Master's Degree with a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
• Extensive understanding of building HVAC, controls, and electrical systems.
• Three years' experience in energy efficiency engineering or building systems, preferably in retail or multi-site applications.
• Familiarity with energy utility efficiency, rebate, and incentive programs.
• Strong knowledge of commercial building automation and energy management systems.

Nice-to-haves

• CEM or AEE certification preferred but not required.
• Experience with multi-site energy efficiency project management.
