About the position

The Energy Engineering Training 2026 Program is designed for recent graduates to develop their skills in Energy Engineering through a 15-week rotational training program. Participants will engage in practical learning experiences, receive technical and leadership training, and work on real-world projects to prepare for a full-time role as an Energy Engineer within Trane Technologies' Commercial HVAC team.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to multiple company locations for practical, in-person learning experiences related to Energy Engineering.
  • Complete meaningful assignments and participate in individual and team projects.
  • Analyze and assess the economic impacts of utility company rate structures and supply side options.
  • Qualify client opportunities and layout preliminary and detailed audit scope analysis.
  • Perform building walk-throughs to identify energy conservation measures in various facilities.
  • Assist with energy simulation models utilizing HVAC principles and consultative selling.
  • Provide routine consultations to clients regarding energy use, building operations, and asset management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in Energy, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • U.S. citizenship or legal right to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship.
  • Valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months with a clean driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience or coursework related to energy efficiency or HVAC systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
