About the position

The Energy Industry Procurement and Project Management Consultant at Accenture is responsible for helping clients develop strategies and operating models that integrate various functions within their organizations, particularly in the energy sector. This role involves managing client relationships, solving supply chain challenges, and utilizing data analytics to improve operational efficiency. The consultant will lead workshops, provide insights, and drive positive impacts in the communities where they work, all while collaborating with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support Client Executives in managing relationships with assigned clients.
  • Manage plant level relationships and prepare required information for client calls.
  • Function as a secondary point of contact for clients and maintain relationships.
  • Identify and solve supply chain and operations challenges using analytical skills.
  • Lead workshops to improve organizational processes.
  • Determine methods and procedures for project completion.
  • Provide clients with insights to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Challenge legacy processes to fuel client growth.
  • Utilize digital technology to improve client effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Work as part of a diverse team, leading and coaching others.
  • Support client sales origination and thought leadership development.
  • Ensure projects align with client goals and drive community impact.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working on Supply Chain initiatives.
  • Minimum of 3 years of external experience at a consulting firm or 3-5 years of internal consulting experience in a role equivalent to consultant level within the Energy or Utilities industry.
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years in Energy Procurement.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of energy markets, including utility tariffs, deregulated and regulated markets, and risk management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Deep specialization in procurement or 3rd party cost takeout initiatives.
  • Experience in forecasting, supply chain planning, and inventory optimization.
  • Manufacturing production experience in continuous or discrete environments.
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and leadership experience.
  • MBA or equivalent graduate degree.
  • Functional-level understanding of technology solutions.
  • Lean or Six Sigma qualifications.
  • Experience with data analytics tools like Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx.
