About the position

The Energy Management Analyst II at Ahold Delhaize USA is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and standardizing building energy performance and operations. This role focuses on analyzing energy data to assess performance, measure savings, and evaluate consumption across various locations. The analyst will drive innovation in energy efficiency and facility operations, contributing to the company's carbon reduction goals while working in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

  • Research new technologies and innovations related to energy performance and facility operation.
  • Review energy consumption via utility billing, sub-metering, and facility energy management systems to provide exception and trend reporting.
  • Support management of building and energy monitoring programs by tracking and reporting identified energy conservation measures and savings.
  • Identify energy-saving opportunities and recommend strategies for reducing consumption, such as upgrades to energy-efficient equipment or optimization of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Manage energy performance analysis, including data collection from various energy management systems for end-use accounting and facility performance.
  • Maintain energy metering systems to gather data on electricity, gas, water, and other energy-related consumption.
  • Perform energy benchmarking across all facilities to identify trends and outliers in overall efficiency.
  • Validate energy conservation measures for new and existing stores.
  • Perform engineering calculations relating to new equipment energy consumption and performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy, or relevant experience in facility energy management.
  • 3+ years of experience in energy analysis or understanding of supermarket control systems (Refrigeration, HVAC, Lighting, etc).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and reporting skills.
  • Advanced computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel or PowerBI.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage priorities and workflow on multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with supermarket energy management systems such as Emerson and Danfoss.
  • Experience with supermarket operation and control systems.
  • Understanding of general engineering principles.
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency principles and industry best practices.
  • Ability to prepare reports, manage data, and analyze results.
  • Certified Energy Manager.
