About the position

The Energy Management Systems Programmer at Macy's plays a crucial role in maintaining a comfortable shopping environment by managing lighting and HVAC systems across all company locations. This part-time position involves scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting energy management systems, ensuring compliance with company standards while responding to emergencies on an on-call basis.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, monitor, and adjust lighting and HVAC systems for stores nationwide.
• Schedule lighting and HVAC for holidays, inventory, special events, and sales based on company standards.
• Monitor store temperatures to ensure they meet standards and troubleshoot any lighting or HVAC issues with field technicians.
• Use various energy management systems, including Andover Continuum, Ecostruxure, Ezenics, HI Solutions, Siemens, and I-Net.
• Prepare and distribute energy reports as requested or required.
• Perform all functions and duties of the Stores Operations Center position.
• Complete various Stores Operations Center and Energy Management assignments as delegated.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Working knowledge of various energy management systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or similar programs.
• Ability to monitor store temperatures and troubleshoot with field technicians.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
• Strong sense of urgency and excellent follow-up skills.
• Resourceful self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations.
• Good judgment and critical thinking skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in software troubleshooting.
• Ability to learn new systems as they are upgraded.
