About the position

The Energy Market and Research Analyst at Leeward Energy will provide analytical support to various teams, focusing on developing and maintaining pricing models that aid in trading and project development. The role involves aggregating data from multiple sources, analyzing large datasets, and creating market intelligence systems to inform business decisions. The Analyst will also be responsible for preparing pricing prediction models and collaborating with stakeholders to identify business needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of internal analytics and market intelligence systems.
• Aggregate data from multiple sources and proprietary models.
• Collect, process, and analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and insights.
• Develop and continuously improve existing models, integrating machine learning and advanced analytical techniques.
• Work with stakeholders to identify business needs and develop systems, models, and analyses to address them.
• Design and maintain data visualization tools to communicate market insights.
• Develop a medium to long-term pricing model based on market fundamentals.
• Collaborate with the Finance team to provide key data for financial modeling processes.
• Run scenario analysis with traders to identify trading opportunities and risks.
• Issue Forward Curves and PPA forecast curves to relevant teams.
• Develop and deploy market performance reports summarizing performance and identifying opportunities.

Requirements

• 2 to 5 years of professional experience in data analysis, market analysis, and financial modeling.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong knowledge of Python, SQL, and machine learning techniques.
• Bachelor's degree in business or STEM field.
• Creative thinker with strong investigative and analytical skills.

• Relevant power and renewable energy experience is preferred.
