About the position

The Energy Project Manager at Johnson, Mirmiran, and Thompson Inc. is responsible for delivering project objectives including scope, schedule, and budget for energy-related projects. This role involves business development, project management, and technical leadership within the energy market, focusing on areas such as Energy Management, Decarbonization, Fossil Fuels, and Renewable Energy. The position requires a self-motivated individual with a strong understanding of the energy market and the ability to build and maintain client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain an active sales and business development role with a focus on the energy market.
  • Manage and document business development and sales efforts in the client management system.
  • Serve as a technical advisor and knowledge resource by training and assisting team members.
  • Establish client and project plans aligned with practice and market objectives.
  • Build, maintain, and diversify strong client relationships.
  • Manage team workflow for maximum efficiency and profitability.
  • Prepare change orders and addenda to contracts.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with other practices and markets.
  • Manage and complete the project billing process.
  • Supervise, develop, and mentor direct reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited engineering program or equivalent training and experience.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • 10+ years' experience working in the energy field or on energy-related projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Nice-to-haves

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification.
  • Energy-related experience - design and/or field related.
  • Experience working with local clients at the county and state level.
  • Experience working with/for national and regional energy clients and ESCO's.
  • Project management and business development experience.
  • Experience managing multidiscipline project teams.
