About the position

The Energy Trading Consulting Manager at EY will play a pivotal role in helping oil and gas companies navigate the complexities of energy trading amidst volatile market conditions. This position involves leveraging extensive experience in energy trading to optimize supply chains and implement effective trading strategies, while also contributing to the transformation of operating models for clients. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders and a strong understanding of the energy sector's challenges and opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Define and document trading front, middle and back-office process design.
• Implement an energy trading organizational model.
• Conduct benchmarking, surveys, and market scans for new technology opportunities.
• Perform vendor assessments and fit/gap analysis.
• Integrate cross-product and cross-region commodity trading processes and technologies.
• Identify new business opportunities leveraging prior energy trading experience.
• Gather functional design and requirements across various trading functions.
• Understand capital adequacy, liquidity, and treasury in energy trading organizations.
• Develop energy trading functional and technical roadmaps.
• Set a commodity management vision and commercial strategy for new energies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in economics, mathematics, finance, or a related field.
• Approximately 5 years of work experience in the oil and gas trading sector.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in front office roles within energy trading.
• Technical/Functional ETRM system implementation experience.
• Experience with energy commodities and commercial aspects of trading.
• Understanding of the transaction lifecycle for commodities.
• Ability to liaise between business, technology, and vendor teams.
• Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior experience in oil and gas.
• Experience across multiple technology platforms.
• Detailed technical and solution design for ETRM systems.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of SAP Cloud Platform Integration.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as JAVA, SQL, and Python.
