About the position

SMS is seeking a dynamic personality to respond to engagement requests and support the planning of events for the office of the Army Chief Information Officer. This role involves vetting requests for staff appearances, scheduling and coordinating these appearances, and supporting the collection of information to be delivered by staff. The position also includes coordinating, planning, and supporting events that the OCIO participates in or initiates.

Responsibilities

• Vetting/screening of requests for Senior Civilian SES staff within the Army OCIO to participate in various events.
• Maintain OCIO senior leader engagement calendars.
• Coordinate engagement logistics.
• Prepare CIO and OCIO staff for engagement by organizing talking points.
• Plan and coordinate events initiated by CIO office, including travel logistics.
• Coordinate CIO and OCIO staff participation in events organized by other Army, DOD, Government, and industry organizations.
• Support Communications Outreach and Technical Writing efforts.
• Support development of CIO Strategic Communications activities.

Requirements

• Experience in vetting and coordinating engagements for multiple persons.
• Experience in planning and implementing events for an organization.
• Expert ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms with all levels of staff.
• 3 or more years professional experience in a related field.
• Three or more years of experience in Army, DoD, or IC at the Headquarters, Department of the Army, or major command level or in industry in a similar role.
• Currently possess, and retain, an active DoD TOP SECRET clearance.
