About the position

The Senior Systems Engineer for Engine Control Systems will play a crucial role in the integration of advanced engine control components, including FADEC, sensors, actuators, and fuel systems. This position involves coordinating system-level requirements and verification planning with multi-disciplinary teams, primarily focusing on Electrical and Electronic products and subsystems. The engineer will be responsible for designing and developing Jet Engine and Flight Control Systems for both Commercial and Military engine programs, contributing to architecture development, control system analysis, and requirements management.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate system-level engine requirements and verification planning with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Review data using PW Unigraph and support investigations to isolate issues to the component level.
  • Design and develop Jet Engine and Flight Control Systems for Commercial and Military engine programs.
  • Engage in architecture development and control system analysis to support requirements development and verification.
  • Manage and allocate requirements effectively.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with 3 years of experience, or 9 years of relevant experience without a degree.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in engine and aircraft system design.
  • Strong communication skills with proven effectiveness.
  • Knowledge of electrical, electronic, and sensing components and subsystems.
  • Familiarity with Collins and Pratt & Whitney tools, design, and qualification processes.
  • Proficiency with DOORS, Matlab, Dymola, and Cameo Systems Modeler.
  • Experience in Engine Control Systems and Model-Based Design tools.
  • Knowledge in Fuel and Actuation Systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with hardware integration.
  • Experience with System Dynamic Modeling, System Verification, and Validation.
