About the position

The Engine Rebuild Shop Service Technician position at Holt CAT involves providing high-quality teardown, inspection, and repairs of diesel engines, specifically natural gas engines, in a shop environment. This role is crucial in ensuring that customer needs are met in a positive, caring, and timely manner, thereby maximizing the value of the work performed. The technician will work in a full-time capacity during the first shift, from Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 4 PM, at the Irving, Texas location. In this position, the technician will be responsible for performing complex repairs, which include teardown, inspection, repairs, test running, and painting of diesel engines. The role requires a high level of productivity, efficiency, and energy, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The technician must possess their own tools and have a valid driver's license. A GED or high school diploma is highly desired, along with a steady employment history. The job also demands physical stamina, as the technician will frequently need to reach, bend, walk, and lift weights of up to 60 lbs approximately 15 times a day. Attention to detail and a results-oriented mindset are essential for success in this role. Excellent attendance is required, and the technician must be willing to work overtime as needed to meet customer demand. Leadership skills are also important, as the technician may be required to lead a team. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role is necessary to qualify for this position.
