About the position

The Engine Test Enabling Hardware Lead Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and evaluation of mechanical components for Test Enabling/Test Rig Hardware. This role involves executing projects using sound engineering principles while adhering to business standards and practices. The position requires developing specialized knowledge in mechanical engineering and contributing to strategy and policy development within the area of responsibility. The engineer will also mentor less experienced colleagues and lead projects with moderate risk and resource requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles.
  • Develop specialized knowledge in mechanical engineering for all product lines.
  • Serve as a best practice/quality resource and contribute towards strategy and policy development.
  • Make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks in operational/product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering.
  • Lead projects with moderate risk and resource requirements and explain difficult or sensitive information to build consensus.
  • Mentor less experienced engineers and participate in design board activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • 3+ years of experience in an engineering role.
  • Experience designing mechanical components for Test Enabling/Test Rig Hardware.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Working knowledge of GE and Industry design standards and specifications.
  • Experience designing services, frames, rigs, and other mechanical hardware.
  • Ansys, UG NX, and GD&T skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Previous experience in a Test Systems Engineering department.
