GAI's Power Business Unit focuses on developing and supporting Energy, Institutional, Industrial, and Manufacturing clients. In this role, the Engineer 1 will be responsible for planning, designing, and facilitating civil engineering project design tasks such as site grading and drainage design, access road design, erosion and sediment pollution control design, stormwater management design, report preparation, and permitting. The engineer will perform technical and feasibility studies, collaborate with other professionals, and discuss requirements with team members. Utilizing computer programs, the engineer will develop detailed designs and ensure that work products meet client, environmental, and safety requirements. The position requires performing work with minimal guidance and supervision, handling complex issues, and referring only the most complex issues to more experienced staff. The successful candidate will possess a strong working knowledge of civil engineering design tasks, a positive attitude, and strong knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and analysis modules. They will perform moderate to complex civil design tasks while delegating more routine tasks to less experienced staff. Mentoring, guiding, and checking the work of less experienced staff is also a key responsibility. Strong team collaboration, oral and written communication, design expertise, and problem-solving skills are essential. Adherence to the safety and quality procedures of GAI and our clients is mandatory. The role may require travel to other offices, meeting with clients, and attending project-specific meetings.
