About the position

The Engineer 1 position at Westinghouse Electric Company involves working within the eVinci Safety Analysis team to support the safety analysis of microreactor systems. The role focuses on modeling and safety analysis activities for advanced reactor designs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for safety analysis of microreactor systems.
• Perform modeling and analysis of advanced reactor designs using engineering tools and methods.
• Develop technical documentation and presentations related to calculations and analyses.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical problems for the eVinci Microreactor and other advanced reactor designs.
• Communicate with technical leads and project managers regarding assigned work scope.

Requirements

• BS Degree in Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
• 0-3 years of experience in engineering.
• Ability to apply fundamental engineering principles with a background in thermal hydraulics and applied fluid transport.
• Experience with modeling or simulation, such as finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), or neutronics analysis (MCNP, Serpent).
• Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills including technical writing.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
