About the position

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking an Engineer 2 for the Civil and Environmental Business Sector. This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus as well as our flexible hybrid or remote work schedules. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a team-oriented environment that will utilize their college education and past work experience to develop professionally into a well-rounded engineer with the ability to grow in today's environment. Responsibilities of this position will include leading civil site work consisting of design, permitting, and construction activities as well as beginning to establish client management and business development strategies. The role involves working on energy-related projects, leading civil site engineering tasks, interfacing with clients on civil site tasks, and leading assigned project teams. The Engineer 2 will also be responsible for the development of civil site proposals and task management on assigned projects, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality of work. The position requires travel overnight to project sites domestically, as needed, with travel anticipated at less than 20% monthly. The Engineer will be involved in creating site grading plans, erosion and sediment control plans, stormwater management plans, hydrologic and hydraulic/drainage plans, utility design and relocation plans, maintenance and protection of traffic plans, and permit applications. Additionally, the role includes developing construction drawings, specifications, quality control plans, and construction cost estimates, as well as providing owner's engineer support during construction and conducting field investigations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field investigations

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) License
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Leadership skills
  • Proficient in computer skills
