About the position

The Civil Engineer at Exyte is responsible for preparing complex construction documents and providing technical solutions within the Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) Engineering disciplines. This role involves independent work in the Advanced Technology Facilities (ATF) and Biopharma and Life Sciences (BLS) industries, requiring sound judgment in the application of engineering techniques and compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform Computer Aided Design and Drafting (Autodesk Civil 3D) of civil engineering plans including 3D modeling, alignments, corridors, cross sections, and grading plans.
• Understand industry or regulatory codes and standards pertinent to the Civil Engineering discipline.
• Work with local Professional Land Surveyors to produce civil engineering drawings.
• Research local ordinances and regulations to ensure compliance in design deliverables.
• Use software such as CulvertMaster, FlowMaster, CivilStorm, and Intergraph Smart3D for engineering tasks.
• Participate in team and client meetings to discuss project progress and requirements.
• Support 3-D modeling and adjust between Civil 3D and Revit for final deliverables.
• Assist in cost estimates and quantity take-offs for projects, proposals, and change-orders.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers and technicians.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in Civil Design using AutoCAD Civil3D.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Professional Engineering (PE) License preferred.
• Nation Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Record preferred.
• Ability to work well in a diverse team setting to meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Exhibit characteristics of an emerging or developed leader.
• Knowledgeable and productive in the Revit work environment preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience with large projects and industrial projects preferred.
• Willingness to learn Revit if not already knowledgeable.
