About the position

Genesis10 is seeking a Data Engineer for our client in the Healthcare industry. This Direct Hire Permanent position is located in Addison, TX and offers a hybrid schedule of 3 days onsite. The Data Engineer will primarily focus on analytical processes and will be responsible for implementing database solutions and best practices in the realm of machine learning projects. The role requires essential software engineering skills and a strong foundational knowledge of data movement and orchestration in both on-premises and cloud environments. The Data Engineer will support and align with business decisions by analyzing raw data, constructing and maintaining data systems, and improving data quality and efficiency. This position involves implementing programming languages to develop and test architectures that enable data operations for predictive (i.e., machine learning/AI) or prescriptive modeling. The Data Engineer will be expected to effectively facilitate group discussions, analyze and develop raw information, and maintain various data sources. They will work to improve data quality and efficiency to build data systems and pipelines, identify opportunities for data acquisition, and implement ETL methods to prepare both structured and unstructured data for predictive and prescriptive modeling. Additionally, the Data Engineer will leverage data serialization techniques to meet project needs for use in various reporting platforms and develop analytical tools and programs suitable for users, customers, and stakeholders within the client. Collaboration is key in this role, as the Data Engineer will work closely with Business Intelligence (BI) ETL Developers, Data Architects, Data Scientists, Reporting Analysts, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to understand business goals. They will also need to understand the enterprise project life cycle and prepare for integration and user acceptance testing methods. Producing technical documentation in accordance with enterprise standards and guidelines is also a critical responsibility. The Data Engineer will serve as an escalation point for application support and troubleshooting, proactively identifying issues and opportunities that impact the business use of reports, ensuring managerial awareness, and reviewing outstanding issues daily to assure that troubleshooting and resolutions are current. Compliance with change management policies and procedures is essential for all changes made.

Responsibilities

  • Effective group facilitator

  • Ensure all changes comply with change management policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • At least three or more years in software development / Data-Centric pipelines / Model-Centric pipelines
  • Relational Database experience
  • Documentation and publication experience
  • Client Core Competencies of Service Mentality, Attention to Detail, Sense of Urgency, Initiative and Flexibility
  • Ability to make decisions or solve problems using logic to identify key facts, explore alternatives, and propose quality solutions
  • Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to deal with people tactfully and professionally
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information (including HIPAA and PHI) in accordance with federal and state laws and company policies
  • Strong SQL development and performance tuning skills
  • Highly organized
  • Effective communication skills to speak and write clearly and professionally
  • Skilled at listening and providing feedback
