About the position

The Data Engineer role in the Data Breach Investigations Report (DBIR) team is focused on supporting the tools and infrastructure necessary for analyzing cybersecurity incident and breach data. This position involves maintaining and improving R and Python code for the data pipeline, as well as monitoring and deploying these tools on AWS. The role emphasizes the importance of documentation and ease of use for publicly available tools developed by the team.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and deployment of analytics, including predictive models, machine learning techniques, and analytical reporting for projects.
• Construct, configure, and modify both the components and the code which form the execution environment for the AI/ML models.
• Research, engineer, and build network automation solutions to drive efficiency of next generation networks.
• Be detail-oriented and think critically to solve issues in real-time.

Requirements

• 5 to 10 years of experience developing and supporting software in R, with a bigger focus, and Python, with a smaller focus.
• At least 4 years of experience in AWS DevOps and data pipelines, including technologies such as AWS Platform, Docker, Airflow, and Jupyter notebook deployment.
• Experience in instrumenting and monitoring data pipeline workloads, focusing on improving automation and performance.
• Technical writing skills to develop and maintain documentation for the tooling and data pipeline.
• Interest in the Cybersecurity field and understanding the challenges of different datasets.

• Experience in the Cybersecurity field.
• Experience in managing or supporting Open Source projects in R and Python with a focus on data science.
