About the position

The Engineer Electric position at PSEG involves supporting the operation of the Electric Distribution system, which functions continuously throughout the year. The role requires providing engineering expertise and management to maintain the integrity of the Electric Transmission and Distribution System. The engineer will also offer technical support to clients and staff, ensuring efficient application systems are developed and deployed according to established standards. This position includes supervising field forces, managing projects, and coordinating information for regulatory and leadership reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a range of engineering expertise to operate and maintain the integrity of the relevant system(s)
  • Oversee and directly supervise the work of craft/union field forces and/or engineering technicians in a union workforce environment
  • Serve as a representative of PSE&G management in the face of the customer as well as other external stakeholders
  • Provide design, analysis, and maintenance support of the relevant infrastructure and/or programs
  • Perform support in conjunction of on-call duties for division and system emergencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in STEM discipline, relevant to required discipline
  • 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of Electric Transmission and Delivery operations
  • Proficient in relevant Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to read applicable technical documents and/or schematics
  • A valid U.S. driver's license with a safe and satisfactory driver history
  • On call 24/7 hours to assist during system emergency situations and restoration
  • Willingness to perform regularly scheduled weekend and holiday work.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in relevant technical field
  • Advanced degree, technical training or E.I.T Certification or P.E license
