About the position

The Engineer - Electronics / Electrical Systems III position involves developing firmware requirements and designing FPGA/ASIC solutions in collaboration with various engineering teams. The role requires expertise in verification techniques and documentation, contributing to design reviews, and ensuring compliance with safety-critical software standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop firmware requirements in coordination with systems engineering, hardware engineering, software engineering, and subsystem owners.
  • Develop FPGA/ASIC designs and implementations utilizing hardware description languages.
  • Perform verification utilizing techniques such as simulation, SystemVerilog, OVM, and UVM.
  • Author tests, documentation, and participate in design reviews.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of FPGA/ASIC design and verification work experience.
  • Demonstrated firmware development skills in real-time embedded systems, particularly in Verilog/SystemVerilog/VHDL.
  • Experience designing, developing, and verifying high-performance FPGA or ASIC solutions for use in highly integrated (SW and HW) systems.
  • Experience with Python, Lattice, Synplify, Testbench.
  • Working knowledge of NPR 7150.2, DO-254, or other safety-critical software standard.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and build a culture of collaboration.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice-to-haves

  • 8+ years of FPGA/ASIC development experience.
  • Experience with Modelsim, or Questasim simulators and Synopsys tools for design from vendors such as Microchip, Xilinx, and/or Altera.
  • Experience utilizing Xilinx Vivado and/or Intel Quartus development platforms to successfully build, test, and deploy hardware implementations.
  • Working knowledge of NPR 7150.2, DO-254, or other safety-critical software standard.
  • Experience with multiple clock domains design.
  • Knowledge with domain crossings (CDC): design, verification and debugging.
