The Telecommunications Professional will be responsible for engineering routine and specific outside plant work orders for Business as Usual (BAU) and Rural Broadband (BB) services. This role requires the individual to provide both administrative and field support to the outside plant workforces in the York areas, including Dillsburg, York, Delta, and Glen Rock. The candidate will be expected to drive to various field locations to design, maintain, and optimize Verizon's network infrastructure, particularly in the specified geographic areas. The responsibilities will include designing upgrades, repairs, and enhancements to the Outside Plant telephony network, which encompasses all structures such as poles and conduit systems, as well as cable (both copper and fiber) and associated equipment for aerial, underground, buried, and customer premise equipment for multi-tenant buildings. The engineer will also meet with customers to complete Site Surveys for HBW/FTTP/FTTC projects and will be involved in the placement of customer premise equipment across multiple types of buildings and structures. Additionally, the engineer will design HBW/FTTP/FTTC service order requirements within a geographical turf and create solutions to extend fiber or copper service solutions to customer locations. The role requires proficiency in AutoCAD and fiber design, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical/science/mathematics field, or equivalent prior work experience in the telecommunications field, ideally with at least 2 years of relevant experience. Candidates should also have a solid understanding of Outside Plant Engineering Practices and be proficient in computer skills, particularly with Windows-based programs and Google systems. Experience with CAD programs, MS Excel, MS Access, and Google Sheets will be particularly beneficial.
