The Sr. Engineer at United Rentals is a licensed Professional Engineer responsible for providing engineering support across multiple profit centers within the Fluid Solutions Division. This role is crucial in addressing the engineering needs of contractors, industrial, and commercial companies, thereby driving profitable engineering revenue for both the Division and the Company. The position requires a blend of education, experience, and sound judgment to effectively plan and achieve set goals. In this role, the Sr. Engineer will design various fluid control systems, including dewatering systems, water/sewer bypass systems, and mechanical flushing and purging systems for diverse construction and infrastructure projects. The engineer will be responsible for delivering P.E. sealed/stamped engineering design plans and supporting calculations to customers across assigned locations. Additionally, the role involves providing engineering consultation to sales representatives, evaluating site conditions, and designing effective water fluid control systems that enhance job site efficiency and practicality. The Sr. Engineer will also develop conceptual designs to assist in estimating and costing control systems based on proposed designs. Ensuring that engineering drawings and plans are accurate and comply with applicable engineering design standards and project specifications is a key responsibility. The engineer will assess problems that arise during field operations and recommend corrective actions, ensuring timely delivery of plans to branches and customers to maintain revenue and foster positive relationships. Furthermore, the position requires obtaining and maintaining a current NCEES record to secure professional licenses in multiple states, as well as fulfilling continuing professional development (CPD) hours to maintain licenses. The engineer will also provide necessary education and support to Fluid Solutions sales representatives and assist regional management as required.
