About the position

Weston & Sampson is currently seeking entry-level Engineers for our Charleston, SC location. The selected candidates will engage in both field and office work within the domains of Water, Wastewater, and Environmental Engineering. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals and contribute to meaningful projects that protect and improve the natural and built environment. As an Engineer I, you will assist the Senior Engineer with various engineering studies, designs, and specifications. Your role will involve visiting job sites to perform project tasks as directed by the Senior Engineer, which may include sample collection, drilling oversight, surveying, and construction oversight. In the office, you will be responsible for engineering design, data tabulation, and preparing reports and proposals. Responsibilities

  • Assist the Senior Engineer with engineering studies, designs, and specifications.
  • Visit job sites to perform project tasks as directed by the Senior Engineer, including sample collection, drilling oversight, surveying, and construction oversight.
  • Perform office work that includes engineering design, data tabulation, and preparing reports and proposals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • 0-3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Positive attitude and effective communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer spreadsheets, word processing software, and/or CADD is helpful.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in a field setting, including drilling oversight, soils logging, and construction oversight.
  • Valid driver's license.
