About the position

The Engineer I, Civil/Structural position at Zachry Nuclear Engineering, Inc. involves performing a variety of engineering and design activities related to power plant upgrades and new projects. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of senior engineering staff, applying standard engineering methods and techniques to assist in calculations, modifications, and designs aimed at improving plant performance, safety, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering and design activities for power plant upgrades and new projects.
• Assist in calculations, modifications, and designs under the supervision of senior engineers.
• Evaluate conditions and develop design changes to enhance plant performance and safety.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure effective project execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil (structural) engineering from an accredited program.
• Demonstrated knowledge of industry codes including ACI, AISC, and ASCE 7.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Effective time management skills to handle multiple projects.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the nuclear power industry.
• Field experience on nuclear plant projects.
• Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
