About the position

As an Electrical Engineer I at Qualus, you will engage in power system studies across various sectors, including commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, and generation facilities. This role involves performing analyses such as short circuit evaluations, overcurrent coordination, and arc flash studies, while also presenting findings to both internal and external stakeholders. Your work will contribute to designing effective mitigation solutions, leveraging strong communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies using SKM, ETAP, and/or Easypower software.
  • Apply knowledge of low and medium voltage switchgear, motor control centers, circuit breakers, panel boards, and disconnects to determine cost-effective mitigation solutions.
  • Develop study reports and communicate results and recommendations to customers.
  • Perform data collection activities.
  • Develop and/or implement arc flash mitigation designs.
  • Interpret new construction drawing packages.
  • Develop relay protective setpoints and settings files.
  • Develop and/or update equipment control schematics, one lines, three lines, and wiring diagrams.
  • Effectively communicate with other departments and customers to assure activities are properly coordinated.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related from an ABET accredited school.
  • Ability to work independently and accurately with high attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to discuss technical recommendations with customers.
  • Strong computer skills.
