About the position

Idaho Power is seeking an Engineer I, II, or Senior to join its Power Production team in Boise, Idaho. This role is crucial for maintaining the company's generation assets and ensuring compliance with various regulatory standards. Responsibilities

  • Plans and leads projects, assignments, and technical investigations.
  • Acts as a liaison between other departments and organizations.
  • Evaluates progress and results, recommending changes in procedures.
  • Exercises moderate technical judgment in decision-making and independent action.
  • Responsible for budgeting, financial accountability, and timelines on assigned projects.
  • Utilizes industry and discipline-related knowledge to interpret and comply with regulations as required by NERC, FERC, WECC, EPA, NESC, OSHA, FCC, etc.
  • Supports Generation Operations, including investigation of protective trip operations and optimization of water use.
  • Administers the generator testing program and supports compliance with NERC Reliability and Security Standards.
  • Coordinates Protection Systems with appropriate entities and supports refurbishment of generators.
  • Monitors and maintains Power Plant auxiliary equipment and supports power plant cyber security.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution or a non-ABET accredited institution with a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Engineer I: 0-2 years of related experience.
  • Engineer II: 2 years of related experience.
  • Senior Engineer: 6 years of related engineering experience or 5 years with a PE or advanced degree and 3 years in the area of expertise.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) designation for Engineer I or II.
  • PE license for Senior Engineer.
