This position is responsible for providing knowledge in civil engineering, particularly in the context of hydroelectric projects. The selected candidate will work under supervision and will be involved in systems or facilities that impact plant or system reliability and non-critical assets. The incumbent will manage low to moderately complex projects and will have low to moderate decision-making authority. Key responsibilities include assessing, monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on dam safety engineering aspects associated with the District's hydroelectric projects. The engineer will write and review technical documents for both internal and external audiences, compile and analyze dam monitoring data, and assist in meeting FERC Engineering Guidelines related to structural and geotechnical stability, hydraulic considerations, and emergency action planning. The role also involves reviewing engineering work requests, preparing technical specifications, generating and revising drawings, and inspecting equipment in the field. The engineer will coordinate and conduct engineering studies and projects, develop and implement procedures, and analyze system requirements to verify integrity. They will specify equipment, work with vendors, and manage documentation for Grant PUD's infrastructure. The position requires effective communication with various stakeholders and oversight of contractors and consultants. As the engineer gains experience, they will take on more responsible work and participate in project budgeting and management under the direction of a supervisor.
