About the position

The Engineer I QA - Sutures position at Arthrex involves supporting the quality team to ensure the delivery of superior quality products and services in the medical device sector. The role is based in the manufacturing facility in Ave Maria, Florida, and requires a passion for quality and a degree in Engineering. The successful candidate will collaborate with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to prevent quality discrepancies and drive corrective actions, contributing to the overall quality assurance processes within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to prevent quality discrepancies and determine root causes.
  • Review Device History Records (DHR), conduct inspections, perform functional testing, and write evaluation reports.
  • Develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products.
  • Initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation using knowledge in engineering fields.
  • Devise sampling procedures and develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality data.
  • Evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing facilities.
  • Develop methods for the disposition of discrepant material and assess cost and responsibility.
  • Compile and write training material and conduct training sessions on quality control activities.
  • Assist in Quality Control, Manufacturing Engineering, Metrology Process Control, Product evaluation, and Receiving Inspection.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • Experience in a Quality Control or Quality Assurance position in a Medical Device Company preferred.
  • Knowledge of testing equipment, statistical methods, and control plans.
  • Proficiency in PC programs, particularly Excel and Word, and inventory software like QAD.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with quality assurance in a medical device environment.
  • Familiarity with statistical process control and quality improvement methodologies.
