About the position

The Engineer I position at Rosendin is an entry-level engineering role designed for recent graduates or those with equivalent experience. The role focuses on developing technical engineering skills while providing support to internal and external customers under the supervision of senior engineers. The Engineer I will engage in various engineering tasks, including design, coordination, and project support, contributing to high-profile projects in the electrical contracting industry.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical engineering design and consultation to internal and external customers under supervision.
  • Oversee or collaborate with Designers assigned to the work or team.
  • Review, comment, and process equipment and system submittals.
  • Perform coordination between architectural, structural, mechanical, and plumbing processes and all electrical trades.
  • Prepare designs, check, and specify power, lighting, and auxiliary systems.
  • Develop power single-line diagrams and model short circuits and over current protection device coordination studies.
  • Coordinate work with project specifications or equipment buy-out.
  • Visit job sites to field survey existing electrical conditions under supervision.
  • Become familiar with engineering analysis programs to analyze loads, lighting levels, and short circuit currents under supervision.
  • Participate in project team meetings and interface with team members, architects, and mechanical contractors/engineers.
  • Assist with the review of plans, technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates under supervision.
  • Assist senior engineers with field observations, design interpretations, and design updates during construction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architectural engineering, construction sciences, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to learn Engineering Analytic programs for short circuits, over current coordination, and arc flash mitigation programs.
  • Familiarity with codes and energy efficiency requirements.
  • Competence in Autodesk, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), and Illuminance software.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under supervision and meet deadlines.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with engineering analysis programs such as SKM or E-Tap.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and standards.
