About the position

The Engineer I (EI) at EarthScope Consortium Inc. plays a crucial role in managing and participating in various field projects aimed at the installation and maintenance of geophysical instruments and networks. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to work under direct supervision while also having the opportunity to operate independently in diverse environments, including sites across the United States, polar latitudes, and other international locations. The EI will be responsible for planning and conducting field operations, which involves a comprehensive understanding of the equipment and techniques used in geophysical projects. In this role, the Engineer I will assist in equipment testing, troubleshooting, and evaluating new technologies as directed. The EI will contribute to project documentation and reporting, ensuring that all work adheres to best practices and organizational standards. As ambassadors of EarthScope's values, Engineers represent the organization to scientists, landowners, sponsors, and community members. The position reports to the Engineering Manager and may involve collaboration with higher-level engineers on designated projects.
