About the position

The Automation Systems Engineer (ASE) role at Raytheon focuses on developing and sustaining physical automation solutions, including robots, PLCs, HMIs, and vision systems. This position is integral to bridging the gap between physical and digital automation, utilizing Ignition for machine connectivity and visualization. The role emphasizes collaboration within a diverse team and offers opportunities for growth in technical, manufacturing, and business domains.

Responsibilities

• Continuously improve and troubleshoot automation systems, primarily Robotics, PLCs, and Vision Systems.
• Integrate and manage spares inventory for active and upcoming systems.
• Program front end visualizations in Ignition (Java / Python).
• Drive collaboration between Industry 4.0 team and Factory Operations.

Requirements

• Typically requires a Bachelor degree in Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing operations/engineering, systems engineering, controls engineering, and/or automation engineering; or an applicable advanced STEM degree.
• Experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment.
• Microprocessor or Programmable Logic Controller Programming.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
