The Engineer II - Civil/Structural position is primarily responsible for designing and preparing engineering plans, specifications, standards, studies, and cost estimates, while developing sound technical recommendations in support of various projects and tasks. This role may involve providing Professional Engineer sign-off and stamp approval, depending on the individual’s licensure. The engineer will manage, coordinate, and direct the development of work scope, selection of consultants and contractors, cost estimates, budget, permits, design, material procurement, and schedule for projects and tasks. The position requires establishing and maintaining key relationships with internal and external personnel to support higher-level engineers in the development of company engineering policies. The Engineer II will apply a high level of technical expertise to solve operational problems identified by the Regions or other organizations. This includes gathering, organizing, and analyzing data to draw logical conclusions, preparing and approving engineering calculations, and providing tangible recommendations. The engineer will also stay abreast of the latest changes, trends, and technological advancements in the industry, maintaining familiarity with company operations to effectively support client requests. The role involves managing and coordinating large projects, ensuring successful completion while improving systems, programs, and operational processes to increase productivity and data accessibility.

Responsibilities

  • Design and prepare engineering plans, specifications, standards, studies, and cost estimates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.
  • 5 years of previous full-time related engineering experience and possess an EIT required.
  • Ability to understand engineering practices, concepts, techniques, and cost analysis.
  • Ability to understand and apply engineering/technical, mathematics, and physical science principles to analyze and solve problems.
  • Ability to review problems and propose innovative solutions to assist in the resolution of unique problems that impact company operations.
  • Ability to perform project management skills including leadership, communication, team management, scheduling, negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to effectively work with various departments to maintain open lines of communication.
  • Ability to communicate technical and non-technical information clearly and concisely with different levels of management.

  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the state of California preferred.
