About the position

The Engineer II/HVAC position at Marriott International involves responding to guest repair requests and performing preventive maintenance on tools and equipment. The technician will work in a full-time capacity during the evening shift at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Kissimmee, FL, ensuring the maintenance and functionality of hotel systems and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and attend to guest repair requests.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines.
• Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and buildings.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved communication programs.
• Display proficiency in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building management skills.
• Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on various equipment and systems.
• Assist with surface preparation, painting, and minor repairs.
• Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing maintenance work.
• Train and mentor other engineers as needed.
• Perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including readings and rounds.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent with vocational or technical background.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification.
• At least 2 years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience.
• Must meet applicable state and federal certification and/or licensing requirements.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation, and painting.
