As an Engineer II, you will lead capital projects through Design, Construction, and Qualification for Facility Upgrades to the Cincinnati site to support company strategy that meets external customer requirements. In this role, you will lead project teams to deliver capital projects with a focus on facility and utility modifications. You will ensure timely delivery of projects within scope and budget while collaborating with internal Thermo Fisher teams and external contractors to define user requirements and refine project scope. Your responsibilities will include selecting, directing, and coordinating contractor and vendor work to enable successful project delivery and implementation. You will also be responsible for capital project cash flow forecasts and monthly capital budgets, working closely with the engineering supervisor and manager to ensure forecasts, accruals, and capital depreciation are accurate. Additionally, you will develop, review, and implement Change Control documentation and Installation Qualification (IQ)/Operational Qualification (OQ)/Performance Qualification (PQ) protocols for facility and utility changes. You will need to develop, review, and understand engineering drawings that include equipment recommendations and utility/facility changes, specifying construction methods to achieve the desired objectives. Continual supervision of the project job site(s) for contractors' and site safety performance will be essential, and you will need to promptly resolve any safety violations that occur.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering field (Chemical, Mechanical, or related).
  • 2+ years of experience in engineering and facility construction in Pharmaceutical, Food and Beverage, Packaging, or Aseptic background is preferred.
  • Understanding of quality and regulatory requirements for GMP environments and OSHA standards for facility and utility construction.
  • Experience leading capital projects - engineering and construction.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced results-oriented environment.
  • Effective time management, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent social skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with multi-functional teams, contractors, suppliers, and clients.
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
