About The Position

The Engineer II - Process Safety Management at Westlake Chemical is responsible for leading the Process Safety Management (PSM) program and Risk Management Plan (RMP) at the Calvert City plant. This role involves developing and implementing goals, standards, and expectations for the PSM/RMP programs, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing guidance for continuous improvement in safety practices.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering or similar technical degree.
• At least 5 years of relevant PSM experience, preferably in a chemical/petrochemical/refinery environment.
• Knowledge of PSM regulations, standards, and procedures.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Good computer skills, particularly with MS Word and Excel.
• Ability to effectively interact with Operations, Maintenance, Corporate, and governmental agencies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the site lead for the plant's Process Safety Management (PSM) program.
• Work with corporate HSE to develop and implement goals, standards, policies, and expectations regarding the company's PSM program.
• Coordinate compliance evaluations and necessary follow-ups and improvements with corporate HSE.
• Implement Corporate-wide standards of performance relative to PSM with plant personnel.
• Participate in and periodically review the plant's Process Hazard Review (PHA) program, providing guidance and recommendations for improvement.
• Review the plant's Management of Change (MOC) program and provide guidance and recommendations for improvement.
• Review the plant incident Investigation program and provide guidance and recommendations for improvement.
• Act as the plant expert on PSM regulations and related issues.
• Analyze plant data to discover trends in PSM performance.
• Act as site PSM/RMP Coordinator to implement and ensure consistent application of the PSM/RMP program.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
