About the position

The Spare Parts Sales Engineer at Voith Hydro is responsible for driving the regional growth of the spare parts business, focusing on sales, execution, and service. This role involves leading the spare parts strategy, managing customer relationships, and ensuring the successful delivery of spare parts for hydroelectric power plants. The engineer will interface with customers and internal teams to achieve sales and EBIT goals while promoting Voith's spare parts offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Developing, monitoring, and managing the regional spare parts portfolio.
  • Promote and deploy the spare parts program within the region, being responsible for the regional portfolio of Spare Parts, and its related targets.
  • Manage the applicable transactions using our ERP system, ensuring delivery of parts on time, on budget and with the expected quality.
  • Develop and maintain good working relations with customers, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Responsible for making logical decisions to resolve customers' problems.
  • Accountability on the overall success of the spare parts business in North America.
  • Leading the regional spare parts team to ensure proper execution of the spare parts orders from proposal stage to delivery of parts.
  • Frequent travel to power plants to provide customer support and recommendations for spare parts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field with equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in hydro power or similar industry.
  • Experience with spare parts management, sales, and proposal preparation is an asset.
  • Entrepreneurial skills to develop and implement the Spare Parts program in the region.
  • Organizational skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Highly developed report writing and technical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in interpreting O & M manuals and reading technical drawings.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's or a PhD degree is an asset.
  • Experience inspecting power unit/equipment would be an asset.
