About the position

Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) is seeking a Civil Engineer to join their team. This role involves applying prescribed methods to complete specific portions of broader engineering assignments under general supervision. The engineer will assist in various tasks including client communication, report preparation, and project monitoring, contributing to the overall quality of engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Apply prescribed methods to complete limited and specific portions of broader assignments.
• Adjust and correlate data, recognizing discrepancies in results and following operations through detailed processes.
• Exercise limited judgment in making preliminary method selections and adopting alternatives.
• Assist in client and sub-consultant contact and communication about specific projects.
• Attend client meetings and assist in the preparation or modification of reports, design computations, specifications, plans, and construction schedules.
• Contribute to the development of probable construction cost estimates for projects.
• Review construction sites to monitor progress and perform duties based on contract documents.
• Use computer-assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering and design documents.
• Be responsible for project quality on tasks assigned as defined in the Quality Assurance / Quality Control guidelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Understanding of surveying and basic engineering terminology.
• EIT Certification or passing the FE Exam within 6 months of start.
• 1-2 years of experience in the field or a related area.
• Valid driver's license.
