As an Electrical Engineer at LEO A DALY, you will play a crucial role in the engineering design process, specifically focusing on electrical design for power, lighting, low voltage, and special systems work. This position involves working as part of a multi-discipline team, contributing to various architectural and engineering projects throughout all phases. You will be expected to deliver technically correct solutions for small projects or tasks within larger, more complex projects, often under the guidance of Senior Engineers. Your work will require a blend of independent judgment and collaboration, ensuring that all designs meet the necessary specifications and quality standards. Your responsibilities will include performing design calculations, preparing reports, and producing comprehensive drawing sets that encompass site plans, lighting plans, power plans, special systems plans, one-line diagrams, schedules, and details. You will also be involved in client meetings, where effective communication with clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders is essential. Conducting site investigations and observations will be part of your role, allowing you to ensure that the designs are implemented correctly in the field. In addition to technical responsibilities, you will participate in Construction Administration by reviewing shop drawings and submittals, responding to Requests for Information (RFIs), and addressing construction issues as they arise. Mentoring junior professionals and designers will also be a key aspect of your position, as you help foster their development within the company. Furthermore, you will assist with marketing and business development activities, which may include building relationships with key clients, proposal writing, fee estimates, and participating in client interviews. Travel for marketing and project-related activities will be required, adding a dynamic element to your role.
