About the position

The Engineer III (Lead QA Engineer) is responsible for overseeing the delivery of end-to-end system development and maintenance on complex technology systems. This role involves developing and implementing test strategies to ensure high-quality system delivery, including test planning, automation, and environment strategy requirements. The Lead QA Engineer will also mentor staff, coordinate testing efforts, and provide on-call support to monitor system performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee test strategies and functions to ensure high-quality delivery of systems.
  • Create test planning for strategic and complex initiatives, including automation and environment strategy requirements.
  • Adopt test data-driven techniques and create automation test suites for nonproduction environments.
  • Utilize multiple tools to design, test, and deploy effective testing solutions.
  • Define test scenarios for Integration, Performance, and Regression Testing.
  • Lead the team in the design, development, and implementation of testing strategies.
  • Document test plans, procedures, and cases, and log bugs in the tracking system.
  • Mentor staff in testing processes and provide troubleshooting support.
  • Develop and perform system testing, fix defects, and re-execute unit tests to validate results.
  • Coordinate with other IT departments for successful project implementation.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience on one platform, multi-database, multi-language, or multi-business application.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience mentoring others and leading small projects.
  • Programming experience in languages such as Java, JavaScript, Informatica, SQL.
  • Experience with Agile Methodology.
  • Experience with ETL data integration projects using Informatica PowerCenter.
  • Experience with ETL and API testing tools and strong coding skills.
  • Experience with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket, GitHub.
  • Experience with defect tracking tools such as JIRA.
  • Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux and Perl scripting.
  • Ability to lead and guide junior QA team members.
  • Experience in healthcare claims processing.
