About the position

The Quality Engineer, III at Thermo Fisher Scientific will play a crucial role in supporting the Chemical Analysis Division (CAD) by ensuring compliance and quality assurance across various processes. This position emphasizes hands-on implementation of quality control measures, mentoring, and continuous improvement initiatives, all while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction and product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Implement Quality Assurance/Control Auditing (Internal, External, Supplier)
  • Own and mentor Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for business partners
  • Support the creation and monitoring of Nonconformances
  • Complete Complaint Investigations and trending
  • Participate in New Product Introduction teams to provide feedback on product quality and compliance
  • Utilize Thermo Fisher Scientific's PPI Business System to drive efficiency and continuous improvement
  • Continuously participate in supplier qualification and monitor supplier quality

Requirements

  • B.S. in engineering; advanced degree is a plus
  • 5 years of demonstrated experience in Quality Engineering
  • Experience managing multiple projects and focus areas
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma or Lean methodologies; training or certification preferred
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001-2015, 13485, and ISO 14971 standards preferred
  • ASQ Quality Engineer certification preferred
  • Proactive problem-solver with understanding of problem-solving tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with quality management systems
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance in a manufacturing environment
