About the position
A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT) is seeking a highly motivated Engineer Intern to join their engineering team in Towson, MD for the summer of 2025. This paid full-time internship will provide the opportunity to work under the supervision of experienced engineering staff across various groups including Transportation, Water, Structural, and Construction Management. The internship is designed to support the intern's growth and may lead to a full-time Junior Engineer role upon graduation.
Responsibilities
- Support various project tasks including regulatory requirements/reviews, cost estimates, research, and procurement support.
- Perform data entry, management, evaluation, and presentation.
- Support the preparation of reports, plans, and specifications for clients.
- May work on field assignments as needed.
- Will be supported by leaders, mentors, and teammates.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as necessary.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Pursuing Bachelor or Associates Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid technical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Honest, fun, hard-working, and ready to learn and grow.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with engineering software applications (AutoCAD, MathCAD, Bentley Microstation, etc.) is preferred.
