About the position

The Cloud Site Reliability Engineer at Tractor Supply Company is a multifaceted role that integrates software engineering, system administration, and IT operations. This position is crucial for ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of systems, focusing on system design, automation, monitoring, incident management, performance tuning, collaboration, and security. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and effective communication, directly impacting the stability and efficiency of critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate effectively to mitigate financial risks.
• Coordinate efforts across onsite, offshore, and nearshore teams, ensuring clear communication and task alignment.
• Collaborate with software engineers to enhance system availability and reliability.
• Develop and maintain automation tools to streamline operations.
• Improve monitoring and alerting systems, responding to incidents and performing root cause analysis.
• Conduct performance tuning and capacity management to optimize system performance.
• Communicate system performance and incident updates to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with security best practices and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• 4+ years of related work experience, preferably in the retail industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with public and private cloud technologies (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of UNIX, Linux, and Windows platforms.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of ITIL Foundation concepts and continuous improvement practices.
• Experience with programming and scripting languages (Python, Go, Java, Bash).
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Experience with SDLC Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
