About the position

United's Digital Technology team is at the forefront of designing, developing, and maintaining technology solutions that scale massively, utilizing innovative architectures, data analytics, and digital solutions. This operational support position is crafted to enhance the candidate's understanding of United's best practices, tools, processes, and functions within the Digital Technology sector, under the guidance and mentorship of senior leaders in the Field Services organization. The role is pivotal in managing the Digital Technology aspects of small to medium-sized projects that are both diverse and complex. The candidate will coordinate the field side of project planning, execution, timing, functionality, and quality, while also interacting with vendors and contractors to ensure project success. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that United's IT Critical Infrastructure standards are adhered to, while also being involved in the deployment and support of various platforms including End User, Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), Voice Over IP (VOIP), Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), and Mobility platforms. This position serves as the interface between Field Services and both internal and external business partners, requiring excellent organizational and communication skills, a strong background in project management, and a solid understanding of telecommunications standards and practices. The candidate will also support United's HUB and regional airports, as well as other facilities, performing duties such as walkthroughs, preventative maintenance, mobility product support, and inventory management. In addition to technical responsibilities, the role emphasizes the importance of valuing cultural, ethnic, gender, and other individual differences, fostering an environment of learning and support. The candidate will perform system maintenance and administration, diagnostics, automated imaging of PC equipment, and assist end users with troubleshooting device performance issues. Participation in regional project meetings for project tracking and analysis is also required, along with the coordination of activities with internal and external technology owners and service providers. The candidate will ensure that the Main Distribution Frame (MDF) room and Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) conform to established enterprise and industry standards, while monitoring and maintaining Digital Technology infrastructure and end-user equipment to achieve expected performance levels.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Digital Technology aspects of small to medium projects that are diverse and complex.
  • Coordinate the field side of project planning, execution, timing, functionality, and quality.

  • Perform walkthroughs and preventative maintenance on Digital Technology equipment.
  • Provide mobility product support and Digital Technology infrastructure support.
  • Manage operational equipment and communication rooms, including inventory management and supply storage.
  • Perform system maintenance and administration, including diagnostics and automated imaging of PC equipment.
  • Assist end users with troubleshooting device performance issues.
  • Attend regional project meetings and provide project tracking and analysis.
  • Support the integration of vendor tasks and track vendor deliverables.
  • Coordinate activities with internal and external technology owners and service providers.
  • Ensure compliance of MDF and IDF rooms with established standards.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or equivalent IT Field Service experience.
  • 2-4 years of IT experience.
  • Knowledge of Mobility IOS/Android, Windows, and LAN room.
  • Experience in Digital Technology Infrastructure (Copper, fiber optic).
  • Experience in project management/lifecycle management.
  • Ability to communicate solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Aptitude for problem solving and maintaining poise in high-pressure environments.
  • Active commitment to self-development and technical aptitude to learn new technologies.
  • Reliable and punctual attendance.
